My Journey using a FasciaBlaster

Part 1 – The beginning

For those who do not know me, let me tell you my 4.5 year journey of using this plastic tool that has changed my life in so many ways! I decided to do this as a multiple blog series because a 4.5 year journey will be long and I don’t want you to lose interest!

What is a FasciaBlaster? It is a plastic stick with claws that is used to self massage and helps smooth out cellulite and helps with so many other things. I will leave this explanation up to the creator of this, Ashley Black and refer you to her website at the end of this blog.

Prior to my Fasciablasting journey I had gained a ton of weight, had a lot of cellulite and was really unhappy with myself. I was headed out to an annual trip to Florida and feeling self conscious about being in a bathing suit. After expressing these concerns to a friend, she jokingly said get the FasciaBlaster! She was not a user and said she saw it on the internet. I went home and did some research and decided I had nothing to lose except $89.00 if it didn’t work. Heck, I had spent more that that on anti-cellulite creams in the past so I was willing to give it a shot! I remember it arriving just before I was leaving for my trip. I was a bit sad that I didn’t get to give it a try before I left. I played with it while watching TV on the couch a couple of times, trying to get the feel of it and wondering in amazement if this plastic stick would actually do as it claimed. I kind of liked the way it felt while I was using it uncommittedly watching TV with my husband. It felts really good, a nice self massage yet deeper than any massage I have ever gotten. When I got back from my trip, I remember feeling awful about how I looked in a bathing suit by the pool at the resort. I immediately began researching more about this stick. I joined the private FasciaBlasting Women’s Group on Facebook to learn more. I was eating it all up! The other members of the group were amazing! They shared their trials and tribulations about what worked, what didn’t, how they were using it and what to expect. I understood that at the time the best way to do this was to get the fascia hot and just blast the area. I began a weekly ritual on Sunday evenings to draw a bath with some Epsom salts (women recommended this as it helps with detox symptoms), I would relax in the tub for a bit listening to music and then begin to blast my legs. I was amazed at how this hurt so good! I felt like this is what I have needed my whole life! I immediately started to feel better as my legs used to hurt even if I just poked or touched them! I continued to read the comments and posts on the private Facebook page learning more and more. At the time, the only tools available were the Original FasciaBlaster and the Mini2 which was a smaller one with only two claws instead of 4 claws which are on the original. I decided I needed that Mini2 to get better leverage on my arms as the other one seemed too bulky. I got the Mini2 and added arm blasting to my showers. I still did my weekly bath an focused on my legs, but each day in the shower I would use the smaller one to do arms, belly, butt, hands and feet. Overall, I began to just feel better! I knew this was now a lifestyle change for me and I started taking pictures of my body parts to compare later (I am glad I did since I cannot believe the transformation that has happened in the last 4 years!)

What I loved most about this group of women was their courage! Women were posting pictures of their body no matter what size, shape or condition in this group to show others like me the changes that were happening to their bodies. This was helpful to me because for the first time IN MY LIFE, I found out I was not the only one with cellulite, with lumps, bumps, fat rolls, stretch marks, fatty underarms and all other things that I thought were my own problem. Its lonely thinking you are the only one with a particular issue or shaped arm or leg where you are so self conscious of it that you are afraid to wear sleeveless shirts or a real bathing suit! This group and this plastic stick helped change my body, my mindset, gave me confident and the will to add more self care to my daily life!
